New Zine: Neighbourhood Sanctums Vol. 1

Neighbourhood Sanctums vol. 1 is the first of a series of publications on temples in Taiwan. I have been returning to my birthplace regularly in recent years and was intrigued by the prevalence of temples on every street corner. I began to document them after a brief chat with the owner of a gallery in Taipei when he suggested the idea. These images perhaps illustrate an overwhelming visual reality of the island. But it could also be a door for me to relearn the society that had become alien after a long departure.
